Our research focuses on investigating the mechanisms of cell–cell communication within the thermogenic adipose tissue microenvironment and how this network of interactions regulates systemic metabolic homeostasis. We study how different cellular populations within the adipose niche—adipocytes, immune cells, endothelial cells, and neural cells—interact through bioactive lipid and peptide mediators to modulate thermogenic activity, tissue remodeling, and metabolic adaptation. Understanding this local communication is essential for identifying novel therapeutic targets capable of modulating adipose tissue function in the context of metabolic diseases, particularly obesity. In parallel, we investigate mechanisms of interorgan communication with adipose tissue serving as a central metabolic hub. We explore how lipids and lipid-derived mediators produced in adipose tissue influence the metabolism of key metabolic organs, including the liver, skeletal muscle, and pancreas, thereby remodeling systemic energy homeostasis..
