Research Lines
Studies on genetic-molecular changes of malignant neoplasms, and search for potential therapeutic targets for their treatment. This line of research investigates the in vitro and in vivo effects of inhibition of different oncoproteins (such as NF-kB, PLK1, AP-1, ROCKs, etc.), and microRNAs that may assist in the development of alternative therapies for cancer. The approaches are multiple involving treatments with ionizing radiation and innovative antitumor compounds focusing on cellular responses at the level of cell cycle control, mechanisms of death, changes in gene expression, clastogenicity, and the evaluation of other cellular parameters such as viability, clonogenic, and invasive capacity of tumor cells.
